Rudraksha means Rudra (shiva) and aksha means eyes. Rudraksha botanically is known as Elaeocarpus angustifolius. As per the shiv Puranas, rudraksha reaps major benefits to the wearer of the rudraksha mukhi. the value of the rudraksha Mukhi is based on the size, shape,and origin. Even modern science proves through researches that wearing rudraksha is highly beneficial to attain materialistic as well as emotional benefits. The rudraksha tree is largely found in Nepal and Southeast Asia. Branches being spread all over bear different kinds of flowers like white flowers with fringed petals that develop into a fruit. The seed once planted takes 15 -16 years to grow into a tree. the bead comes in different faces or species most commonly found Rudraksha is five Mukhi. the bead is seasonal found around mid-august mid-October. The types of rudraksha are between 1 and 21 facets having a dimension of 25 mm to 30 mm.

Rudraksha Rules:

Energizing is a rudharksha bead is mandatory before wearing it. Dirty hands should never be used to touch a rudraksha bead. The rudraksha bead should never be exchanged with anyone. Eating nonvegetarian while wearing rudraksha should be avoided . Women during menstrual cycles should not wear rudhraksha.

Legends Associated With Rudhraksha:

Hindu scriptures like the Shivpuranas have depicted Lord Shiva wearing Rudraksha beads on his arms and head. This lead to findings which proved some spiritual, religious and materialistic significance. It is said that once upon a time a demon called Tripasur had gained a lot of prosperity that all the gods had been left defeated and the gods that felt crippled and handicapped turned to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva had become emotional as he had no choice left but use a harmful weapon to kill the demon and the emotional tear which fell on earth was developed and known to be Rudraksha. As each bead is differently formed and shaped. It signifies unity Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
According to another text from history it is said that once upon a time Goddess Parvati asked Lord Shiva how and where did the holy rudhraksha was formed? Upon asking this question Lord Shiva replied he had done penance for a several years and he had kept his eyes closed during that duration. Post which when he opened his eyes he a few teardrops fell from his eyes and the Rudharkasha tree was born. Later on the seeds of the same tree were distributed on Earth and that’s how the holy bead rudharksha was formed.
